SET & COSTUME

DESIGNER

This haphazard, comedic play revolving around the love life of Misha, a beautiful girl, who lives in an upside down house that continues to sink throughout the play, required a fun and creative approach to the design.

Being a production specifically for the Fringe Festival, the set had to be concise and compact, resulting in it only taking up a 1m x 1.5m square space.

The nature of the play allowed for a lot of fun with the design; the sinking house and backdrop of scenes were intricate cut outs projected onto the back wall to fill the space and create an effective and visually engaging location change.

"A stunning set design by Emily Harwood fills the stage nicely and the projected silhouettes add a much needed atmosphere and sense of depth to the production...an overall vision not too far removed from the works of early Tim Burton."
