HEDDA GABLER //

SET DESIGNER &

MODEL MAKER

Hedda's life is one which revolves around society and appearances.

The set uses a simplistic yet symbolic design. The glass chamber above, engraved with her father's portrait shows his constant presence surrounding her behaviour, the sofas still in their protective plastic casing symbolises the superficial nature of things, the large glass aquarium fully personifying Heddas trapped dilemma and ethos.

The use of different levels and entrances allows for a lot of movement to play around with and the variety of possible lighting opportunities enables the atmosphere to change dramatically throughout.
