ABOUT

"I am inspired by the everyday. Stories we are told, buildings we walk past, items we over look and take for granted.

All of these things have an importance, no matter how small, they make up the fabric of our lives and lay the foundations to our world and how we see it."

Emily is a London based set & costume designer for theatre, film and public space.

Having graduated from the University of Kent with a Masters in Theatre Studies, specialising in Scenography, she has gone on to work with a variety of different companies and venues. These include: Graeae, the Roundhouse, the Barbican, City of London, Soho Theatre, the Arcola, National Youth Theatre, Spare Tyre, the Albany, Punchdrunk, the Lyric, Science Museum, Hot Brown Honey, Milk Presents and Koko Brown, to name a few.

Her skills include model making, set construction, prop making, 2D animation and puppet construction. Emily runs workshops in set design, theatre making in non-traditional spaces and craft workshops for all ages.

In 2012 Emily co-founded Slap Haddock.

A theatre company that aims to make work for and with communities in non-traditional spaces; allowing them to fully engage with the arts and their area in unexpected and silly ways.

Emily also leads architecture tours of the Barbican Arts Centre & Estate in London.
